Early Care, K-12, and University Education

Achievement at all ages and stages relates closely to quality of teaching, to children’s readiness to learn, and to current and future expectations. For example, young children who have access to high quality care and education programs begin school with higher reading skills and fewer behavioral problems. From the number of master teachers to the level of preparation for post secondary education, this section highlights indicators and outcomes for Arizona’s students. Information was drawn from the Arizona Department of Education, Arizona Department of Economic Security, Arizona Department of Health Services, and other institutions.

Indicators in Children and Families are collected by various agencies on different timelines. The information presented here is the most current available and reflects the time period used by each source.
