Health

Access to health services, cost, quality, and prevention affect children’s health as much as they do adults’ health. A child’s healthy development is integrally related to learning, allowing children to achieve the physical, cognitive and social well-being necessary for success in school and life. This section features data from the Arizona Department of Health Services and other resources to show how Arizona’s children are doing in general and the special characteristics that distinguish this state from others. Data on risk factors among Arizona’s children are provided also.

Indicators in Children and Families are collected by various agencies on different timelines. The information presented here is the most current available and reflects the time period used by each source.
