Families
Safety & Security
Security can be defined in many ways and shapes children’s development and opportunity for success. This section offers information from the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections, and other agencies in such areas as child abuse and neglect, foster care, and juvenile justice. In addition, economic security among Arizona’s children and families are highlighted. Arizona’s relatively high number of families with low incomes points to a special need to understand economic status. Poverty, employment, and public assistance are just some of the items highlighted.
Indicators in Children and Families are collected by various agencies on different timelines. The information presented here is the most current available and reflects the time period used by each source.
