Domestic Net Migration
Net migration (the difference between the number of in-migrants and the number of out-migrants) from within the United States is a primary source of population growth in Arizona. Estimates of net domestic migration have been produced annually since 2011 as part of the annual estimates of the population produced by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Domestic net migration data are presented on Arizona Indicators since 2011 for Arizona and the 15 Arizona counties. State and national population estimates are reported in December. County data are released in March.

Domestic net migration is estimated.
Domestic Net Migration in Arizona and Populous Counties
Visualization Notes:
The Census Bureau’s population estimates indicate that domestic net migration to Arizona and to the Phoenix metro area was modest in 2011 but higher in each year since then. In contrast, no acceleration has occurred in Pima County.
Domestic Net Migration in Arizona’s Less Populous Counties
Visualization Notes:
Domestic net migration was positive in only five or six of the 12 less-populous counties in each year between 2011 and 2014. Three counties had a net inflow in each year: Greenlee, Mohave, and Yavapai. Santa Cruz County had a net outflow in each year.
